I love that SVU is going all out and not holding back; it's exciting! But for an episode on this subject matter, the show is toeing the line and should be very careful seeing as though the opinions concerning these types of things very.

This shouldn't have been made an episode to begin with. No actor of SVU has spoken out about the Black Lives Matter movement. They aren't making this episode to bring attention to the movement, they're using the movement to bring attention to themselves. Piggybacking off the pain of those affected.

Micaela Clark: The whole "ripped from the headlines" premise that the whole Law & Order branch - especially SVU - has always piggybacked off other people's misery. This story line is no different. I've received a huge number of complaints from fans over the years about this; some fans take offense to what they see as excitement by the producers and writers when a huge REAL story breaks and they can write an episode about it. I don't object to the occasional use of "RFTH" but SVU has taken it to an extreme and it does seem like they are making $$$ off the misfortune of others. But in their defense, the Black Lives Matter movement is something that is hard to ignore; other shows have already used as foundations for episodes so I think SVU wants to have their chance to tell their own. I'm taking a wait and see approach before I pass judgement!

Hello Chris!!! It's the first time i write in your blog.I love your blog and your reviews!!! I just want to say that i found on facebook some photos where there is a scene will Rollins and Murphy in this episode. Does tha mean he's the father? I think we are gonna learn who's the father in this episode.

I haven't seen any photos or anything from a scene with Rollins and Murphy from this new episode. Do you have a link? Some people have suggested that Det. Dumas, who was in "Institutional Fail" and who is set to be in this episode, may be the baby daddy. Some have suggested that Nate, from her gamblers anonymous days, who Rollins had a relationship with, could be the father too. We know it is not Amaro's based on what she's said. Rollins has had a few relationships that we've seen and we don't know how many we haven't seen, so it would be anybody's guess. I just didn't think she had a sexual relationship with Murphy though, at least not that I recall.

I'm intrigued by the notion that this Detective Dumas could be the baby daddy. Really? I barely recall Dumas & Rollins having screen time together. I know there were a couple of brief moments but that's all.

There's nothing to suggest that Rollins & Murphy had an intimate relationship but she did look up to him and they definitely had a connection on some level.

Murphy being the father makes sense to me. Some random cop she seems to barely know doesn't.

I honestly don't want Murphy to be the father of Amanda's baby. I can't imagine any situation in which they would sleep together and the idea of it is too weird for me. I rather it be someone completely new.

On a different note, they filmed this episode around my birthday (September 10) :)

Unprecedented episode? Hardly. Amaro's 180 covered this territory albeit from the cop's POV.

In Amaro's 180 though they presented a scenario where Amaro reacted to a situation according to procedure & was ultimately exonerated.

Interesting that the "cops" involved are characters we are familiar with but don't know that well.

Not sure how I feel about an SVU episode around this subject. I'll wait and see how it's handled.
